The second computer is a laptop with a very weak graphics card but it could certainly handle classic wc3. Poor resource allocation resulting in fps spikes. Btw Reforged graphics has crappy fps at the moment anyway regardless of your specs. Or that the users should simply invest around 500 dollars at a minimum to make what once worked perfectly fine now able to run on a machine of theirs… Is too banal and no effort should be spent, Too hard from a software development standpoint, Now it is not.įor someone to suggest “hey devs, add a flag so that I can choose not to download 25gb of assets” is either: The art assets may or may not be needed at all but the underlying OLD code is still running the game.ĭo you understand the principle at all of not wanting 25gb of assets I dont want for whatever reason it might be? I believe this second case I have mentioned applies to Starcraft Remastered due to the on the fly toggling available.(this toggling is similar to The Secret of Monkey Island HD Remasters). It could possibly be(but I don’t think it’s the case for wc3) that you couldn’t play Reforged graphics without having the original available. No, I wouldn’t expect to be able to play all custom games, as some games will need the Reforged Engine available, however the point is that if my computer can’t handle the Reforged engine, or I simply just want the classic graphics, I should be able to limit the install. ![]() However, this doesn’t change the fact that you should at a minimum find there are no dependencies on having the reforged assets in the game for simply being able to use the classic engine/assets. Whereas a game like Reforged, you have two separate houses you’re painting that have been designed completely separately…two sets of entire assets and engines at work. I get that it’s slightly different in the examples I mentioned, instead of painting a wall white, you’re painting it white but with added detail. Like you do understand you’re missing the point, right? I’m not sure what specific textures you are referring to. ![]()
